Day 1: Nyakabugha is a small but hard-working village located on the Ibanda-Kyanya Town Council near the park gate of Rwenzori mountains. You start your tour by visiting a coffee plantation, which gets runned by a local youth group. You can get an insight of how the coffee are helping to produce coffee, Fuel, medicine and Manure.
After that, you will visit a craft-shop where the owner shows you how to produce the crafts which are all produced in and around the village.
Next stop is a basket community. Local women groups are working together to produce the natural coloured baskets.
Last but not least: You will visit a farmer's family which makes wine out of bananas. Of course, you have the possibility to taste it.
Now you have the choice of where to eat your lunch. You can eat your lunch with the wine-producing farmers or at Ruboni Community Camp.
Coffee Experience Tour
Day 2: Get insights into Uganda's coffee industry!
You start your tour by visiting the coffee plantations around Kasese. Later on you will have a look at a coffee plantation. In a coffee processing factory you can learn how the coffee beans get processed.
At the end you might taste the coffee you followed from the ground to the finished product.
Day 3: Rift Valley Biking Tour
Enjoy this Mountain Bike tour through the Great Western Rift Valley. With breathtaking views of the valley and landscape you will also have a chance to meet locals and see another way of rural living. In addition of the thrill of riding down hill into the unknown this tour also includes short hikes in the lower Rwenzori Mountains.

The trek takes you through the pristine rainforest of kyambogho ridge with a view of the Mubuku Valley then climb the heavily forested ridge which is home to many primates, such as black
and white Colobus monkey, blue monkey and occasionally the L'hoest monkey up the Omu’ka Kizza Rest Camp at 2,977metres.
Here you will enjoy the magnificent views of the Rwenzori foothills, portal peaks, and Kasese
town. You gently descend through the same loop.

1 Day Buraro –Mubuku River Nature Trail (Option two)
The trek will take you through the pristine rainforest of Buraro ridge, after crossing a swinging bridge on river Mubuku. The forest is home to various mountain bird species and many primates including chimps and monkeys.
However the chimps are not yet inhabited, you may only have to hear their sounds or see their nests. You will enjoy walking through a beautiful forest following a hissing sound of river Mubuku. The river Mubuku valley is home to three-horned chameleons.
The walk takes between 2-3hours.

RWENZORI MOUNTAINS TREKKING
The central circuit to the Main Peaks-Margherita and back

Day 2: From Nyakalengija (1648m) to Nyabitaba Hut (2652m)
Begin with a briefing from Afro-Alpine Tour and Safaris Limited guides with the possibility of renting equipment, that marks the start of your hike/trek through the plantations and homes of the Bakonzo, the people of the mountain.
You follow the mubuku river, then the open fern slopes and podocarpus forest up to Nyabitaba Hut the arrival point for the day.
This distance of 10km will take 5 to 6 hours and an ascent of 1200m. While at the location you are facing on the North the Portal peaks, 4627m.
Day 3: From Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut (3505m) you descend to cross Kurt Schaffer Bridge positioned just below the rivers Mubuku-Bujuku Confluence then a climb up through the bamboo forest leading to a steep rocky area to Nyamileju Hut and rock shelter. This point marks the start of the giant lobelia and groundsel zone.
This way proceeds through a bog full of typical plants a long the Bujuku river.
This takes 6 to 7 hours walk to a heather tree surrounded by John Matte Hut where you have high chances of the nice view of Mt Stanley and Margherita glacier.
Finally dinner and overnight.
Day 4: From John Matte Hut to Bujuku Hut (3962m) cross the Bujuku river and enter the lower Big Bog, on a long wood walk where many people experienced how to jump from tussock to tussock before it was put in place. You reach Bigo Hut and rock shelter then climb up to the Upper Bigo bog, proceeding to lakeBujuku at the alpine savannah zone of little vegetation. Finally arrive at Bujuku Hut a hike of up to 5 hours.
There you have a view on peaks of mount Stanley ,Mount Baker and mount Speke.
Dinner and overnight at Bujuku Hut.
From Bujuku starts the diversion for whom intends to climb Mt Speke.
For climbing Margherita Peak it is advised to proceed to Elena Hut for an overnight.
Day 5: Elena (4541m) to Margherita peak (5109m) the climb takes a bout 5-7 hours depending on the weather conditions and the pace of climbing.
Notably, this climb is for only the physically fit and technical climbers.
From the peak via the same way to Elena for a night at Elena if it has been a long day and proceed the following morning the same way via John Matte Hut back....to Nyabitaba Hut...or proceed to Kitandara Hut for dinner and overnight.... (All options are Okey)
Day 6: From Kitandara (4023m) to Guy Yeoman Hut (3505m) via Fresh field Pass (4280m) after a morning leg muscle burst climb up before descending the rocky and boggy areas.
The panorama is dominated by glaciers of mounts Stanley and Baker.
A muddy trail leads to Akendahi, Bujongolo and Kabamba rock shelters where starts the Kabamba water fall valley down to Guy Yeoman Hut (3505m).
This can take up to 6 to 7 hours.
Day 7: From Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyabitaba Hut (2652m) back to Nyakalengija headquarters
The descent to Nyabitaba takes 6-7 hours; however, with an early start it is possible to make it all the way down to Nyakalengija
Below Guy Yeoman, you descend the current over 300m metallic ladder over a cliffs of Kichuchu and Kalya-Rupees rock descending commonly known as Kalyarupia.
Beyond Kichuchu the muddy path in bamboo zone crosses the mubuku river twice before completing the circuit at Nyabitaba-Mahoma-John Matte Junction.
Day 8: Nyabitaba to Nyakalengija
From Nyabitaba to Nyakalengija it can take up to 3 hours descending down to the park gate where your driver can pick you up to Ruboni community camp or Afro-Alpine Tour and Safaris Limited headquarters or to Kasese town or to Kampala-Entebbe an estimated distance of 435km through Fort portal-Mubende Towns.
And 6-7 hours drive Fort Portal via Mubende Highway.

Buraru Hill Climb and
Community/Cultural Experience
Day 1: Arrive at
Entebbe Airport and you are met by our Guide and driven to Hotel in Kampala.
Day 2: Drive down to Fort Port with a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch and thereafter drive to Kasese for an overnight stay at your hotel or community campsite.

Reaching the top
of the 2300 meters hill, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the
Mountains of the Moon and the glorious snow-capped Margherita Peak which can be
viewed during a clear weather. Return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation
and in the evening you are entertained to the Bakonzo traditional dance
performances before dinner and have night.
The hike takes between 4 – 5 hours.
Day 4: Learn about the Bakonzo Culture
After an early breakfast set off to visit the Bakonzo traditional doctor, a black smith and participate in the making of hand crafts using local materials, and if you so wish you can participate in preparing a local meal in one of the Bakonzo homesteads.

Day 3: The second day you hike to Mahoma Lake the forest gives way to along narrow moss covered ridge up to 3,515 meters through an incredibly beautiful forest of giant heather trees covered in layers of bright green moss. You will follow the foot prints of mountain elephants through the bamboo and heather forest and by chance watch them having a drink at the hot spring.
The ridge will lead you to the Rukenga valley where you will see the helichrysum –everlasting flowers, carex, thee mimolopssis eliotti flowers and the giant lobelia. You then cross to Mahoma lake camp for the night. From Mahoma Lake if the sky is clear you will be able to see Mt. Baker, Mt.Stanley and the portal peaks.
Day 4: After breakfast go for walk around the lake and then descend back through Nyabbitaba range post and the Mpanga ridge to adjoin the Mubuku valley, a home of three horned chameleon. From Nyabbitaba Nyakalegija it can take up to 3 hours descending down to the park gate where your driver can pick you up to Ruboni Community Camp or Afro- Alpine Tour and Safaris Limited Headquarters or to kasese town or to Kampala –Entebbe an estimated distance of 435km through Fort Portal –Mubende Towns.
And 6-7 hours drive Fort Portal via Mubende High way.
